AnotherCon began with a simple idea: everyone has a story, and sometimes that story can help someone else.
The inspiration for this website came from my own experiences. During one of the most difficult periods of my life I found it incredibly hard to make my voice heard. I discovered that even when you have evidence, getting people to listen can be frustrating, expensive and, at times, impossible. I eventually had to do this Childadvocacy.info and that drove the idea of this site.
I often thought how different things might have been if there had been somewhere simple to publish my account and direct people to it. Not a social media post that would disappear tomorrow. Not a website covered in adverts. Just one permanent page that belonged to me.
That idea eventually became AnotherCon.

Suggestions for publishing safely and responsibly
AnotherCon is intended to give people a place to describe their experiences and publish information they believe is important. The following suggestions are intended to help you protect yourself and others when creating a page.
Think before you publish.
Anything you publish may be publicly accessible, copied, archived, indexed by search engines or republished elsewhere. Once information has been copied by somebody else, removing it from AnotherCon cannot guarantee that every copy will disappear.
Stick to what you know.
Where possible, describe what happened, when it happened and what evidence you have. Distinguish between facts that you can support with evidence and your opinions, interpretations or conclusions. Avoid presenting assumptions as established facts.
For example, “I paid £500 on 4 June and did not receive the goods” is a description of an event. “They stole my money” is a conclusion that may require considerably more evidence.
Protect personal information.
Think carefully before publishing your own or somebody else's home address, telephone number, email address, medical information, financial information, information about children, or other sensitive personal information. Only publish personal information where you have a legitimate reason and the right to do so.
Check photographs and documents before uploading them.
Images and files can contain information that isn't immediately visible, including location information, author details, document history or other metadata. Check files carefully before publishing them and remove information that you don't intend to make public.
Choose a fair and accurate title.
Your page title and URL may be displayed by search engines and other websites. Consider describing the subject of your experience rather than making an allegation in the title. For example, “My experience with Example Company” is generally clearer and less ambiguous than “Example Company is a scam”.
Keep your editing link private.
Your email address and editing link are used to manage your page. Do not share your editing link with other people. Anyone who obtains an editing link may potentially be able to alter or remove the associated page.
Don't impersonate anyone.
Make it clear who is writing the account and do not create a page that falsely appears to have been written by another person, company or organisation.
Don't use AnotherCon to harass or threaten people.
A genuine complaint or criticism can be expressed firmly without threats, intimidation, abuse or repeated unwanted contact. AnotherCon should not be used to encourage others to target somebody.
Give people an opportunity to correct genuine mistakes.
If you discover that something you have published is inaccurate, misleading or out of date, please correct it. If an affected person contacts you with credible evidence of an error, consider updating the page accordingly.
If you believe another page is problematic, tell us.
If you believe a page contains a serious factual error, personal information that should not have been published, impersonation, harassment, copyright infringement or other prohibited material, please contact us and explain the issue. We may ask for evidence so that we can assess the matter fairly.
Remember that AnotherCon does not decide whether your allegations are true.
You are responsible for the material you publish and for ensuring that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge, lawful and compliant with these Terms. AnotherCon provides the publishing platform; it does not independently verify every statement submitted by users.
Consider whether you really need to identify someone.
Sometimes an experience can be explained without publishing a person's full name or unnecessary identifying information. Where identification isn't important to understanding your account, consider leaving unnecessary personal details out.
AI tools can help with writing, but don't rely on them to establish the truth or legality of your publication.
You may use tools such as ChatGPT to help with spelling, grammar, clarity, structure and tone. Such tools can make mistakes and are not a substitute for checking your evidence, exercising your own judgement or obtaining professional legal advice where appropriate.
Your page belongs to you.
You may edit or delete it at any time.
AnotherCon may remove content that breaches these Terms or applicable law.
Your registered email address will only be used to administer your page and communicate with you about your account. It will never be sold or shared for advertising purposes.
Although we aim to keep AnotherCon available at all times, uninterrupted service cannot be guaranteed.
You are legally responsible for everything you publish. AnotherCon accepts no responsibility for user-generated content.
We recommend writing your story in a text editor first. If you wish, you can ask an AI assistant such as ChatGPT to review your writing for spelling, grammar, clarity, legality, social acceptability or tone before publishing. This is entirely optional.
We reserve the absolute right, at our sole discretion, to remove or replace any page upon receipt of a written and signed request from a serving Member of Parliament, a police force or law enforcement agency, or a sitting judge, provided the request states the reasons for removal. Where we do so, we may replace the removed page with the request, or a redacted version of it, unless prohibited by law.

AnotherCon has been designed to collect as little personal information as possible. Our aim is to provide you with your own web page, not to collect data about you.
